Guide: Oman Apostille – Attestation

For Oman, the attestation process includes three types of attestation based on your requirements. This process ensures that documents meet the required standards of authenticity for legal or official use in the Sultanate of Oman, including for employment, business, education, or family-related matters:

1) MEA Apostille:   (All documents category)

An Apostille is a form of authentication issued for documents to be recognized in foreign countries that are part of the Hague Convention of 1961. It serves as an official certification verifying the authenticity of signatures, seals, or stamps on a document, ensuring its legal validity abroad, including in the Sultanate of Oman.

2. Oman Consulate Attestation (Non-Educational Documents)

All non-educational documents are attested by the Oman Consulate in Mumbai, following these three major steps:

• Maharashtra Mantralaya (Home Department)
